How clean is your kitchen floor???

Before you look at these pictures and think, wow, has RaNae ever cleaned her floor before....those are so dirty, that is disgusting...does she ever clean???

The answer is yes, I do clean! In fact, it really bugs me that I can't get my kitchen floor clean. We all take our shoes off before we come in.....

I hate the fact that I scrub my floor and then I walk on it with my white socks and my socks get dirty.

So, I recently bought a steam cleaner (Shark)at Costco. (If you are going to get one, get it at Costco and not Target. Costco's comes with 5 washable pads...Target comes with 2 washable pads.)

Time for the test..............(This all happened together, it was not spread out over many days)

-I mopped my floor with my regular mop 4 times.
---(washed twice, rinsed twice)---
-Then I whipped out my new steam cleaner.
---(used each rag on my whole kitchen floor, so I went over it 5 times)---

Do the math.....I mopped my floor 9 times.

As you can see, the rags got a little cleaner, but not as much as you'd think.

Jeremy kept saying, "RaNae, you can't mop the floor all day long."

I really wanted to find out if I could truly get it super clean.

Obviously I didn't.

I paid for it in the morning, my arms and neck were so sore from mopping. In fact, I was sore for several days.

Am I glad I have my steam cleaner?... Yes.

Whats it gonna take for me to get my floor super clean????

Your guess is as good as mine........

Kids are the best!!!

We all have moments every day where our kids make us laugh. And then they do something so cute that we could hug and kiss them forever.

Chad (our 4 year old) did three of these yesterday that were worth posting.

1. We came home from church and Chad was holding a picture of Joseph Smith that he colored. Jeremy asked him what the picture was about. He then told Jeremy the story of Joseph when he was a boy and his leg was hurt. He told the whole story. We were so impressed that 1: he must have behaved well enough and 2: he listened to the story. We are so proud of him for being such a good boy in primary. And a huge thank you to his primary teachers. For all of the primary teachers out there reading this, kids really do listen and learn.

2. This is one I wish I had on our video camera. To help you visualize this better...Chad is sometimes hard to understand when he talks. To make things worse ever since Christmas his tonsills are huge (we have taken him in to see a specialist, he is not sick, she said this happens to kids sometimes and to keep an eye out on them, if they get bigger, or don't go down within the next year or so he will need them taken out) so....he has broken English and it sounds like he is talking with two marbles in the back of his throat.
Ok....Chad found this on my kitchen floor:

It is part of a chain off of one of my necklaces that broke.

He picked it up, looked at it and brought it over to me.

Chad: Mama, look, iz a lil' leash....(pause)...for a mouse.

Me & Jeremy: Laugh, Laugh, Laugh

He really thought that's what it was, and you can see why. I laid in bed last night and every time I thought about it I laughed.

3. I was getting ready to get into bed last night and saw this on Jeremy's pillow.

This must have been made in primary. To think that he remembered what his primary teachers must have told him, and did it hours later...and then checked to see if dad noticed it this morning makes us as parents smile!

I wish the smell could last forever!

The other night I made these...they turned out so well I thought I would show them off.
...........Hungry???.............

Family Christmas 2008

Ok, so it's almost Feb. and I am just now getting around to posting Christmas.
It was an amazing Christmas! There is so much to say but not enough time. So I have made two slide shows. One with my family: it was extra special because my brother Dallas and family were able to come home for Christmas. They live in Hawaii. We miss them so much!

The other slide show is with Jeremy's family: it was extra special because Jeremy's moms sister and daughter (so Jeremy's aunt and cousin and her child) came all the way from down under (Australia) to spend Christmas. This was my first time meeting them. They were so much fun to be around! I wish we didn't live so far away, that way we could see them more often.

To all my family: Thanks for the memories!
