Rasmussen Family Reunion

My Dad's side of the family had a reunion this past weekend. We now have 100 members. My Grandma & Grandpa had six children 4 boys and 2 girls. We used to get together almost weekly. My Grandpa, Dad, and his brothers would get together and practice singing. They were amazing! They sang at many firesides, weddings, and funerals. They even sang for "Margeret Hulahan...she was the nurse on MASH", for her birthday. Because of this, all of us as cousins became close, and to this day are still good friends. My Grandpa died about two years ago, but the legacy he and my grandma left, is something to be proud of.

This is Chad kicking the ball....there is nothing "wow" about posting this, other than I think I took this picture with perfect timing...hee..hee.

If you can't tell we did three legged races! In this race, Brayden and Morgan were in the lead.

This is my Dad and my Grandma.

This is my mom and my sister.

The next three pictures are of my brothers and there families.

(He is single)

We had a program of a guitar player, and a bunch of lip-sync groups. Those that did the lip-sync dressed up. It was a lot of fun, and full of laughs.

Yes, the streaker is Jeremy! The old time song that he and my brothers did talked about a streaker....so, he ran on stage, everyone laughed, and he ran off just as fast.

~~~BYU COUGARS~~~
Jeremy & Brayden were able to go to the BYU game with my Dad and brothers this past week. Before the game started, Jeremy took Brayden to stand outside the locker room to see all of the players and coaches. He saw all of them, including Max Hall the quarterback, LaVell Edwards & Ty Detmer. Brayden thought he was so cool to be standing that close to them. He thought they were a lot bigger in person. Between having his own football game that morning, and then after the BYU game he threw a few balls with his uncles, and came home and played football some more...he complained before bed that his arm was hurting him....hmmmmm, I wonder why? I am happy that they both had fun! What boy wouldn't!
MaKayla
I had just given Kayla a bath...all clean and ready for bed. She decided to sneak back in the bathroom and put some of my eye liner on. I had to post this picture because she is so stinkin cute!!!!!!
~Tight Squeeze~
MaKayla has given us hugs for a long time, but now she squeezes our neck as tight as she possibly can. I caught her first tight squeeze when she was saying good-bye to daddy before work...I wanted in on the action, so she gave me a hug and Jeremy took the picture. Loves from my kids are definitely the best!
Giving Neighbors
The Young Women/Young Men in our ward did a service project (scavenger hunt). All donations went to the Food Bank. As you can see, folks around here are kind and generous. When I delivered the items...they were so grateful and couldn't get over how much our neighborhood donated. For those of you that live in my neighborhood... ~THANK YOU EVERYONE~ It was a huge success!
WE HAD TO LAUGH...
Jeremy & I thought this was funny...
For journaling purposes alone....I decided to post this.
The boys just got done eating breakfast before school...
Knowing that Chad is pretty regular, and would be leaving soon...
I said, "Chad, why don't you try to go to the bathroom before we go."
He said, "No mama, me no go to the bathroom...me poo poo's asleep!"
FIRST DAY OF PRE-SCHOOL
Chad was excited for pre-school. No fear....when we got their, he gave me a big grin and waved goodbye. He loved it!
On his second day...he did say that morning..."Mama, I don't want to go to school", .....I said, "How come", ....he said, because I'm going to miss you". Truth be told, I think he was a little cold and wanted to snuggle in his blanket and watch cartoons. When I picked him up, I said.."Did you have fun"...he said, (smiling...and seeming really excited)"ya"....I said, "I knew you would"....he said.."Ya, I know that now".
He looks up to his big brother Brayden. Everyday when Brayden gets home from school...Chad runs up to him and gives him a hug and a kiss.
Here he is in line, ready to go into class.
2008 WARD CAMPOUT
I am a tad bit late getting these pictures posted....better late then never, right?
Before we got to camp, we stopped off and had lunch with some friends in the ward. Chad wanted to wear his pirate eye patch he got in his kids meal. We kept telling him that it just goes over one eye....but he thought it should look like this:
It is a lot of work to go camping...for one night...but look at the fun memories we made:
Jeremy was pretending to be the Statue of Liberty...or maybe singing "The Hills are Alive"....not sure.
I don't remember the last time my kids were this diry...memories.
Here's looking up your nostrills...memories.
The men cutting wood and building fire's....memories.
Love is in the air......memories.
Before and after pictures of MaKayla just saw a ghost....memories
Jeremy's dutch oven peach cobbler...memories
Hanging out around the campfire...and when Chadders is tired he'll sleep anywhere memories...
This is a cute picture....memory.
Canoe rides and races (fyi...Jeremy and the Bishop lost..I guess that is what they get for "accidently" knocking the other guys into the water....memories.
You just thought my kids were dirty....
On our way home we stopped off to get some shakes. We let them sit in our front yard and eat them...(there was no way I was going to let them come in my house with all that dirt).
They were enjoyed by all...especially Kayla. I think she liked spreading it all over herself more than eating it.
There was only one way to solve the "dirty" problem....
Jeremy squirted them off with a hose in the front yard. They had fun, and they were actually pretty clean by the time they made it into their bath.
Phew....I'm glad I'm done with that post...it took for ever.
Ta Ta for now..
