"Spudman" Triathalon or "Studman" Triathalon

Jeremy completed his first triathalon. It was in Burly, Idaho. I am proud of him...he did AWESOME!!! Out of 2000 people, he placed 66th. He was 19th in his age division. He swam 1 mile, biked 25 miles, and ran a 10k. Total time: 2hrs. 11min.

My parents watched our kids. Thank you Mom & Dad for watching them! We had to sleep in a tent and use latrene's...(and doing that with three young children, especially when the latrene's were a long walk away, would not have been enjoyable).

Like I said we had to sleep in a tent, that is because all the hotels have been booked for many months. It could have been worse....I thought we would have to sleep in a field full of mice; but we were able to sleep on a golf course. Not too shabby!

The race started at 7:00am.
Next is a picture of Jeremy in his wet suit right before the swim. They had to wear a bright hat to be seen in the water.

Next is a picture of the snake river that they swam in...it is huge and a little overwelming if your not used to swimming in open water.

This is them waiting for the gun to go off...

And there off......

Doesn't he look great...he is the one right in the middle...can't you see him???

Next was the bike ride....they were coming so fast that I didn't even see Jeremy. He saw me and yelled my name and this was the best picture I could get!

Last but not least was the run. He did awesome in this event. He kept passing people the entire route.
He is the one in the white top.

What a Stud!!!

There was something sad that happened during the race. A gentleman from Provo who was 60 years old, died during the swim. He wasn't in the water very long. From what I here he was in exellent shape. The divers went in to find him about 10 seconds after he went under, but were unable to find him until 30 min. later, due to the murcy water from all of the swimmers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. It is something I saw, and will be hard for the both of us to forget.

Rasmussen Family Trip To Park City

My family loves to get together! It says a lot when a family "wants" to be together. I grew up with two large extended families. My Dad's parents had 6 children and my Mom's parents had 9 children. I have close to 40 cousins on "each" side. We were lucky that most of us lived in Utah, therefore, it was possible for us to get together often. We have great traditions, and many, many great memories.
Because of the great family memories we have, my parents, brothers, and sister all want the same for our families.
I am fortunate that my family all live close by, and therefore we can get together often. So, hears to my family and our annual Park City Vacation...

The first morning was spent at the pool.
This is a picture of my dad who's pants are all wet because he just got done saving his grandson's life in the pool.

It is amazing how fast it can happen....My nephew Landon was holding grandpa's hand while stepping down the steps into the 2 ft. pool. He let go of grandpas hand, lost his footing and went under. In a split second he was laying face down in the pool. Thank goodness grandpa saw it all and jumped in to save him. My nephew was fine, other than being a little scared.

The ironic thing is this happened to Chad, in the same pool 2 years ago. Thank goodness for Chad, grandma was there to save him.
Moral of the story....it can happen fast...so be careful!

There is a picture of my brother holding up a huge rack of ribs. It reminded me of the movie "The Great Outdoors" when they brought out the huge piece of meat.
When they brought out my brothers ribs we all laughed and thought of the movie.

Speaking of food....the second day we ate at the Eating Establishment. My dinner was so yummy I had to take a picture of it...incase you a wondering it is Halibut.
My sister in-law Katie was able to get us an amazing deal their...by one meal, get one free!

Below is a picture of Brayden next to a stuffed cougar...I kept telling him to get closer for the picture, but the little guy was scared.

And of course you can't go to Park City without going to Alpine Slide, and everything else up there.

The last day was spent at a resort in Midway called Zermatt. It was voted the best brunch in Utah. It was divine!
Chocolate fountain...fruit...all breakfast items...and many lunch items including crab legs and shrimp. My favorite had to be the freshly squeezed orange juice and bread pudding. I love bread pudding!!!!!
Here is a picture of MaKayla trying to eat a crab leg...

Reba look alike...or could it be Tarzan...

These were just funny, so I thought I would post them.

If I am tired, I'll just fall asleep where ever I'm at.....

Chad is one of my children that will fall asleep where ever his heart desires...it might be uncomfortable....but he doesn't care.
After he was first out of his crib he would wander at night. I would be up in the middle of the night with MaKayla and find Chad out on the couch asleep...or in the hallway by his bedroom laying in the middle of the floor. There were times I woke Jeremy up in the middle of the night because I couldn't find Chad, then, after a little searching we would find him under our bed.
Crazy, I know...
Here are a few pictures over the last few months...

Fell asleep in front of the T.V.

On the couch...

Had a batman mask on, and was playing with a hula hoop...

On the stairs.....

This just happened yesterday...ya, I know...when I saw this I thought, "ouch". He is laying on the lid with the sharp side up. He slept that way for 1 1/2 hours. You are probably thinking why don't I move him. I have learned in the past that if I move him he won't go back to sleep and then he is honory for the rest of the day.

Another day older, another day wise, look who's turning 35!...

~HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREMY~
Little tidbits about Jeremy:
~I love it when he smiles and his cheak bones pop and his dimples show....(yes Jeremy, you remind me of "Charles Ingalls")....I Love it!!!

~I love it when he calls me his "Lover". When we are talking on the phone he will say, "Hello, my lover".

~I love the fact that he likes to here me play the guitar.

~He is a great father!!!

~His family calls him "Jem".

~He makes me laugh.

~He can imitate an old man. We always begg him to be the "old man". He once sent a tape home while he was on his mission that was the "old man" and his family didn't know who was talking on the tape. I played the "old women" with him once in front of my family and they were all laughing so hard they were in tears, rolling on the ground. This whole new personality shines through and you laugh so hard at what he has to say that I have come close to peeing my pants!

~He is a hard worker.

~He is a runner. He has run 8 marathons, & countless half marathons..10k's...& 5k's. He will run his first official triathelon in two weeks. All I can say is I wish I had as much ambition, and be as fit as he is.

~He loves chocolate more than most women.

~He comes from a family who's ironing skills have been passed down from generation to generation. Jeremy is better then most women....this is all learned from a mother who iron's her sheets! Now that's talent!

~If there is one song that will always remind me of Jeremy, it would be: "Magic" by The Cars. He sings it well.

I could say more, but I don't want to embaress Jeremy.
We love you...and we hope you have a great birthday!!

Chadders...what is going through his little head...

For those of you that know Chad, know that he can come up with the darnedest things.
It might be a smile or a comment that will melt your heart. Or it could be one heck of a facial expression.
The situation:
Jeremy came home from work and he was asking how our day went. I try not to focus too much on the negative, but tonight was an exception. Our day actually went pretty good. Here is where the exception comes in. While I was visiting my Mom & Dad, Chad got upset about something silly, and lets just say it took him a long time to get over it. So, I told him that Dad would talk to him when he gets home.
The funny part.....
Jeremy was sitting on the floor, and Chad was standing next to him. Chad leaned over a little so his ear was by Jeremy's face. As Jeremy is trying to discipline him...(think of this in slow motion) Chad turns and faces me and gave me a wink. This was no ordinary wink. This was the biggest wink I have ever seen a 4 year old give. Then he turned back to here the rest of what Jeremy had to say.
Trying to have a serious face, I busted up laughing.
I'll admit, this is one of those situations where you had to be there...but I think it is still funny.

A. He was letting me know he had it all under control.
B. It went in one ear and out the other.
C. He is smart enough to know how to make a more serious situation...funny.
D. All of the above.

4th Pictures

These are pictures that I took. I had the perfect spot to take them....but then, right before we loaded up the car to go, Chad fell on the rocks and hurt his knee...and the rest is history. I decided not to go to my "picture spot" and I ended up taking them in my front yard. As you can see Chad is not happy, nor was I...but now we have pictures to look back on and laugh.
